A SOLID AND GROWING PORTFOLIO
The CRI growth model is to invest in and/or in-license promising new technologies. The result has been a growing portfolio of investments in which new investors can invest singly or invest in the entire CRI portfolio. Featured partnerships in our portfolio include:
CureDM, Inc.
Located on the Lankenau Institute Medical Research campus in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, CureDM is developing a series of novel human peptides which regenerate insulin-producing islet cells and stimulate the differentiation of adult pancreatic progenitor cells, a potential benefit to Type I diabetic patients. Calvert has invested in CureDM on a number of fronts including proof-of-efficacy studies at Calvert Laboratories, extensive program management services and corporate identity development. More on CureDM is available at www.curedm.com.
AcSentient, Inc.
Calvert provided seed capital to establish this development company focused on in-licensing ophthalmic and dermatology products in late stage clinical development. The rights to compounds accumulated by AcSentient were subsequently transferred to Ista Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (ISTA - Nasdaq) in May, 2002. Calvert remains a shareholder of ISTA as a result of this transaction.
